Weekend Project: Thrifted Frame Jewelry Holder
Sunday, July 31, 2011
Tangled necklaces! Lost earrings! This jewelry box has gotten out of hand! Despite the fact that I love this jewelry box, which I inherited from my grandma - filled with vintage gems, it's really busting at the seams.
Today I went thrifting and found the perfect wooden frame to make a jewelry holder. The whole process took a few hours and now I can actually see my collection! I feel so organized, and best of all I think it's pretty cute.

Ribboned Asparagus & Pine Nut Salad
Sunday, July 24, 2011
A salad, perfect for this Summer heat! I made this delicious recipe for dinner this weekend and served it up with pesto and cranberry stuffed chicken. It was delightful!
What you'll need:* Raw Asparagus, ribboned into strips with a peeler* Pine Nuts, toasted* Fennel, thinly sliced* Grape tomatoes, cut in half* Parmesan Cheese, flaked
Dressing:* Olive Oil* Fresh lemon juice* Salt & Pepper(I generally mix about 2/3 lemon juice to 1/3 olive oil, dash with salt and pepper)
Toss together asparagus, fennel, tomatoes, and dressing in large bowl until evenly coated with dressing. Serve on plates and then sprinkle the toasted pine nuts and Parmesan cheese on top. It's that simple! Enjoy!

Packaged With Love || Etsy Earrings
Wednesday, July 20, 2011
Making jewelry is always fun, but what's better is packaging it! I sold this pair of earrings on Etsy and spent the evening coming up with a cute way to deliver it. After all, we do eat with our eyes first!
Although I have many other ideas that I want to incorporate into future packaging, I thought this box turned out well. I love the tiny details of the tag, wire wrapped into the string and the paper stained with coffee.
I hope you enjoy them Amanda! They're made with love!

Laughing Girl + The Mondays
Monday, July 18, 2011
Yesterday I bought a new camera and this is the first shot I took. It's my Panera Bread smoothie, emptied while I read through the basic set up directions of the camera. When I put the photo on my computer, I couldn't help notice that it looks like there is a face inside the cup, laughing!
Do you see it?! Or am I crazy?! ...look harder.

New Camera, Because I'm Worth It // New Jewelry, Because I Love You.
Sunday, July 17, 2011
I added a few items to Etsy.com today and played with my new camera! Yes, I bought a ridiculously nice camera today because I'm sick of exhausting my Photoshop skills, in an effort to make my old camera's pictures look half way decent. Also, side note, I'm worth it!
Prepare yourselves for the extreme photography love that I will now be throwing your way! I'm excited to learn more about photography + plus figure out all these crazy buttons and settings. I got a Canon Rebel T3i EOS 600D - if you have one, let me know how you like it!
I hope you have a glamorous day!

Campurritos! // Because Camping Should Be Fun!
Tuesday, July 12, 2011
This passed weekend I was camping in Washington on this beautiful little island called Anacortes. Did I mention beautiful!?
In preparation for the trip, my sister and I decided to make what I call "campurritos." These are pre-made breakfast burritos. Just wake up and throw them on the fire for a mess-free breakfast experience (perfect for camping)! You can even place the tin foil packages on the coals and let them warm while you make a french press. OH I JUST LOVE CAMPING! P.S. They are delicious! So here's what we did:The Simple Ingredients:
* 16 Eggs* 1 lb. Sausage* 1 Yellow Onion* 3 Cloves Garlic, minced* 6 Med. Potatoes, chopped* 2 Cups Cheddar Cheese, shredded* 4 Green Onions, chopped* 3 T. Parsley, chopped* 8 or 9 Tortilla Shells* Salt & Pepper to taste* Tin Foil for wrappingOptional: Salsa and/or hot sauce
The Simple directions:
Chop potatoes and boil until soft. Chop green onions and set aside. Crack 16 eggs and cook over low heat until you have soft, scrambled eggs. Salt and pepper to taste. Saute yellow onions and garlic in 2 T. olive oil until fragrant. Add sausage to onion mixture and cook all the way through. In large bowl combine Sausage mixture, scrambled eggs, potatoes, cheese, green onions, parsley, and Salt & Pepper. Divide ingredients into 8 or 9 tortilla shells. Roll and wrap in tin foil -- ready to throw on the fire!
