1. Easter Blessings

    Sunday, April 24, 2011

This is my second year attending the Easter Sunrise Service at Red Rocks.  I can't believe it's been a year ago now that I moved to Denver and made the hike up these stairs to celebrate Easter is such an amazing way.  I knew I couldn't miss the experience again, and although it was much colder this year, and wet, I couldn't help think back to last years service.

I came alone.  I had only lived in Denver for a month and didn't know anyone but my roommate, who wasn't into the idea of waking up at the break of dawn.  I sat down next to a lady and her son who welcomed me to share their blankets.   I was so glad!  It was cold and I was very unprepared.

What I remember most about that time is feeling so excited for my new life in Denver and so scared at the same time.  Like I said, I knew one person here and all I had was my savings and a hope and a prayer that a job would come along.  It's now that I see how God has blessed me this year.  I know it's Easter and not Thanksgiving, but today I am thankful.

Psalms 105:1  ||   O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.

    Wishing everyone a happy Easter!
